There’s nothing like a training course to remind you that it’s not what you know, but who you offend, that defines your professionalism.

My course today ‘taught’ me that despite my love of the English language, I’m evidently abusing it like you wouldn’t believe. I couldn’t believe it, incidentally.

I learned that we shouldn’t refer to kids as bouncing back from conflict, but bouncing forward (the former implies regression). Likewise, when such children go bouncing, we mustn’t give them feedback, but feedforward (the former concentrates too heavily on the past).

The only thing regressing, is my respect for these courses.
