(They’re all for me, I should just point out)

Happy 1 year and 1 day anniversary, Jo! 10th May 2023 was the day I met Jo Watson. The day she forced her friendship upon me at an ‘in real life’ Freelancer Magazine roadshow in Bradford. From Back to the Future quotes, to a physio assessment, to a game of dead or alive, we hit it off. Jo has mentored me through my copywriting career. At a time I really needed it, may I add. I wanted to write this review specifically to celebrate the support Jo has given, and continues to give me. Jo, I hope one day you can breed those pine trees.

This woman (Jo) is just the epitome of cool. Not only did she light a fire of productivity in my brain that lasted nearly 16 hours after our Sorted in 60 session came to an end, but she sent me the recording on that creative storm of a session on Zoom with a WeTransfer page that you just have to see. I mean… you just smash it, Jo.! As an avid follower of Jo’s for many years now – I have been gradually working my way through her various offerings (From Blag to Blog, Boost your Bio, the membership that is The God Damn Inspiration), and finally got round to booking her Sorted in 60 session for some one-to-one support. I’ll be honest, I was wondering how the hell we would get me to an end game in 60 minutes, but she blooming well did it. It’s staggering how much value one brain can bring to someone else’s business. She just thinks so differently and fires on a different level to other people, but she seems to have an amazing ability to drag you up there with her. Her creativity is contagious and she unlocked some great things from my brain that day. After that 60 minute meeting I went on to polish my standard proposal, re-write and re-design my entire website, and add three new landing pages to promote my offers – all because I was keen to harness this amazing creativity that Jo had left me with! So thanks Jo, for the wonderful gift you gave me, and if watching the Zoom video back doesn’t spark another 16 hour bender, I shall have to book you again for another 60 minute session so you can get me ‘Sorted’ once again! Simply awesome!

Several months ago, I hired Jo for a personal project. I have followed her for a while online, and frankly, only *some* of what she posted hit home with me. However, I liked that she remained loyal to herself and had personality with a capital P. CapsLock. I’d even say CapsLock in larger font size, too – 45. Within 30 minutes of our Sorted in 60 call, it became clear that I could only continue on future projects with Jo if I was ready to face my own personality, as she blatantly placed me right in front of a virtual mirror and said, “Yep, this is what we have, and it better be well-articulated and different from everyone else” (or something along those lines). It has been almost three months since then, and after the inner battle with my corporate self, I am grateful. What’s more important though is that I am relieved. Since working with Jo, I’ve connected with even more amazing people and reconnected with former yet brilliant colleagues, clients, and partners. The very energy I was previously trying to polish into oblivion has bubbled up as never before. Why am I writing such a long review, testifying to the importance of a writing expert named Jo Watson? Simply put, a truly gifted writer like Jo sees us as we are, 360 degrees, and helps us shine through in our writing, projects, or lives if we let it be. Thank you, Jo.

I’ve been a writer for many years as a journalist but was canny enough to realise that this isn’t the same as a copywriter who could help when I wanted to start advertising my media training business. I thought Jo would be a good choice of partner as I’d seen her on LinkedIn and she had the right sense of fun I wanted to capture. I couldn’t have been more right. She suggested we should do a Sorted in 60 rather than have me pay for a straight writing assignment, so we could use both our skill sets and it was an absolute blast, both nudging each other in terms of content and style so that we ended up in a better place than I would ever have approached had I been flying solo. We also spent a lot of the time laughing. If you’ve been following Jo on social media and are considering engaging her services I’d urge you to do it. What you see is very much what you get with an addition of being punctual, professional and throwing herself completely into achieving your objective.

Jo you were amazing in that Sorted in 60 with us today. I echo what Rich has already said in his review… we had the information in there, but you helped us pull it out, whilst also giving us valuable advice on what our clients and website audience would want to see in our copy. We are also so grateful that you could still fit us in for this session on a day we know was challenging for you. You were a professional, and gave us 100%.

Thank you ever so much for your generosity of time in our recent ‘Sorted in 60‘, Jo. The session was far more beneficial than I could have ever anticipated, and it was so nice speaking with someone who is so straight talking, creative, clever and energetic. This is the best investment we have made in a good while, and it has provided us with clarity, vision, and a way forward on something that we were unable to get our heads around previously. For anyone deliberating on whether or not to hire Jo… stop it ! Get yourself an appointment made with her…. you will not regret it! hashtagawesome
