I wake up to the news that Joseph Valente’s Autobiography ‘slash’ Business Book, ‘Expelled from the Classroom to Billionaire Boardroom’, has achieved Number One Best Seller status since launching just twelve hours earlier.

Why does this please me?  Because I was the ghostwriter.

Sure, my name isn’t on the cover, and that’s exactly right, because this book is not my story – it’s the story of Joseph Valente, 2015 winner of hit BBC TV show, The Apprentice.

Joe enlisted my help as a ghostwriter via the power of LinkedIn earlier this year, where for reasons I hope he never regrets, he chose me from the raft of recommendations that flooded his profile.  We went on to meet several times over the months that followed for food, drinks, laughs and differences of opinion in order to shape his stories, anecdotes and philosophies into a book – something that a good writer (or agoodwriteup) is an essential part of creating.

Whilst I’m of course so proud of myself for having been involved in such an amazing project during what’s been a whirlwind year for me personally as well as professionally, I’m delighted for Joe, because what he has to say in his book is truly eye-opening, thoroughly enjoyable, and filled from cover to cover with impact and surprise.  He’s done amazingly well for himself, and I had immense fun helping him share his story.

Putting Joe’s thoughts into words is where my role ends in terms of what the book will go on to achieve, but it’s more than enough for me, and I know my involvement will lead to even more incredible things in the future.

My favourite thing about working with clients is the relationship I go on to form with each and every one of them.  It was hugely enjoyable to work with Mr Joseph Valente, and I can’t wait to work with him again on the future projects we’ve already discussed.  I hope you’ll follow everything I’m up to by continuing to read my blogs.
