Re-brand? Ideally.
Midlife crisis? Almost certainly.
August is going to see a little bit of a change for me and agoodwriteup, in terms of a new website, an updated logo, and a shift in what I’m going to be focusing on in my business as everyone’s (self-appointed) favourite writer of stuff.
Although you may not even really notice (or care about) the changes, they’re going to be quite important to me for a few reasons, so to mark the end of an era, I wanted to put something together that I could look back on to this point and be proud of. Oh, and so that I could make a couple of quid on it, too!
So, I’ve spent some time going back through all my hundreds of business blogs that I’ve created for agoodwriteup over recent years, and I’ve chosen my favourites to put into a digital collection. There were some bloody awful ones among those hundreds, by the way, which is why the hit-or-miss and time-consuming “But I could just look at them all online for free” non-buying objection falls apart. But I won’t get into that. You either want this or you don’t, and that’s more than fine.
I’ve taken about 25 of what I hope are the most witty, the most well-written, and the most likely business blogs to have some kind of business-based value in their content somewhere, and I’ve put them into a collection in a pretty PDF format. Yes, I’m aware that the F in PDF stands for format, and therefore, I’ve just said format too many times. Let that be a warning to you that I’m not exactly a ‘play by the rules’ kinda gal when it comes to making an impact with my language. And if you hate swearing, bugger me, you’re not going to like this collection at all…
In terms of topics, there’s a real mix in there, covering all the things I’ve experienced in terms of running a business, being a professional writer, fucking it up on all sides as a working parent, dealing with dickheads who threaten your wellbeing as well as your wealth… I guess in short, the collection covers business blogs on everything from freelancing to freeloaders. That would have been a great title, actually…
So that I could finally use the wonderful image created for me by the brilliantly talented illustrator, Graham P Ryan, in something that could become an official part of my branding, I’m calling the collection: ‘Hand Me My Shovel: A #GodDamnInspirational collection of my best ever business blogs’. To prep this naming, I released my latest blog earlier in the week under the same title (‘Hand Me My Shovel‘), and that blog will feature in the collection, too, of course. I released that blog to remind everyone that, if you ever invest in any way in my blogs, I’m going to do everything in my written power to make you laugh and to make you think. I doubt very much that my business musings will make you money, but who knows. I’m not a #GodDamnInspiration for nothing.
Now, here’s the important bit. The collection isn’t going to be landing in anyone’s inboxes until after the re-brand in mid-August, but I still want to take the full £10 quid off you right now. At least I’m honest! There’s an incentive for you, though, if you’re happy to pay and wait and be part of something that nobody else is going to have if they buy on general sale. Ready?
For everyone who buys a copy in the pre-sale ‘window’, which starts on Sunday 19th July and ends on Friday 7th August at some arbitrary time I’ll look into on the day itself, I’ll be preparing your copy with a special personalised message inside the front ‘cover’. It’ll have your name AND a little personalised note or some kind of musing that won’t so much get you through the day, but will give you a laugh for at least 5 minutes. Plus, it’ll make you feel good that you supported a freelance writer in a career that probably peaked months ago. All of the musings will be different for each person. I’m not a copy and paste fan, so if anyone actually takes me up on this pre-sale incentive, I’m in for a brilliant challenge.
Pre-sale now over – watch this space for the launch of the new website and the general sale of the collection for you to download straight away!
Thank you, lovely people.
